The project has been awarded “1/5 Metre” – one of the most prestigious prizes in architecture in Lithuania. More about the award.

The pavilion is a new cultural hotspot of the Kaunas Picture Gallery and the first space in Kaunas entirely dedicated to outdoor exhibitions, performance art and other cultural activities. It takes shape from the existing gallery, but offers a radically different experience – it is open to public 24/7, translucent, flexible and can quickly transform to suit any desired function. Stainless steel curtains and interior elements can be raised or lowered to clear or divide the space and create configurations both for traditional exhibitions and contemporary performances.
